Additionally, you can customize the trip to suit your preferences by combining gorilla trekking with chimpanzee treks or a Big Five safari through Uganda and Rwanda.
Itinerary
After breakfast today, you will embark on a game drive through the park as you begin your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via the Katuna border crossing. You will have lunch along the way and are expected to arrive in the late evening for some relaxation.
Your gorilla trekking experience will begin in the morning after a hearty breakfast. You will drive to the park headquarters with a packed lunch, where you will meet your park ranger guide at 7:00am for registration. The guide will provide a briefing on the dos and don'ts of gorilla tracking and will then lead you into the forest to begin your trek to find the endangered mountain gorillas. The trekking experience can last anywhere from 1 to 8 hours, depending on where the gorilla family is located, as they tend to move around in search of food. Along the way, you will enjoy the sounds of various birds and may even spot other primates as you search for the mountain gorillas. After a successful trek, you will return to your lodge to relax.
After breakfast, you will begin your journey to Kigali for your connecting flight home.
